چکیده

Anaerobic digestion is a process that can produce renewable energy through the fermentation of biodegradable biomass. Industrial anaerobic tanks are usually made concrete but production various aggressive compounds (CO2, NH4+ and volatile fatty acids) during microbial leads to deterioration structure. In addition, formation biofilm on cementitious material surface could generate even more intense biodeterioration. The objective this study gain better understanding involvement in biodeterioration materials an process. More specifically, focuses heterogeneity populations within reactive medium digestion. Laboratory scale bioreactors mimicking industrial were constructed CEM I cement pastes immersed for 2, 3, 4, 5, 10 15 weeks. was evaluated by determining deteriorated thickness. quantified. attached analyzed using 16 s rRNA gene sequencing. To evaluate biofilm, growth layers successively caused stall two distinct removal techniques. Three fractions defined: planktonic microorganisms, microorganisms loosely strongly attached. results showed lifestyle associated with producing methane consuming acids, while bacteria mainly members Clostridium genus. A community shift due reversible propionic acid accumulation first 5 weeks also observed. no major differences spotted between biomass, indicating homogeneity biofilm. These suggest increase since acids be produced massive quantities near samples acidogenic population present

Relating Anaerobic Digestion Microbial Community and Process Function.

Anaerobic digestion (AD) involves a consortium of microorganisms that convert substrates into biogas containing methane for renewable energy. The technology has suffered from the perception of being periodically unstable due to limited understanding of the relationship between microbial community structure and function. The emphasis of this review is to describe microbial communities in digeste...

Characterization of microbial community structure during continuous anaerobic digestion of straw and cow manure

Responses of bacterial and archaeal communities to the addition of straw during anaerobic digestion of manure at different temperatures (37°C, 44°C and 52°C) were investigated using five laboratory-scale semi-continuous stirred tank reactors. The results revealed that including straw as co-substrate decreased the species richness for bacteria, whereas increasing the operating temperature decrea...

Drivers of microbial community composition in mesophilic and thermophilic temperature-phased anaerobic digestion pre-treatment reactors.

Temperature-phased anaerobic digestion (TPAD) is an emerging technology that facilitates improved performance and pathogen destruction in anaerobic sewage sludge digestion by optimising conditions for 1) hydrolytic and acidogenic organisms in a first-stage/pre-treatment reactor and then 2) methogenic populations in a second stage reactor. Pre-treatment reactors are typically operated at 55-65 °...
